Name: Christopher Takacs (pronounced Tack-iss)

Age: 19

Power: Animal Shapeshifting. Inside his DNA there is a mass storage system. Any DNA he has read, Christopher can transform into that animal. In order to read DNA Christopher must touch an animal, and from that point on that animal is an accessible form. He can also do partial, or area specific transformations, though these are much harder, and exhaust him at a higher rate, and are more exhausting the larger it is (Shifting just his eyes would not be as exhaustive as shifting his arms.) When in a shapeshifted form he acquires the traits, and sensory capabilities of that animal, and has increased sense of smell in human form. Every animal form retains some characteristics of Christopher's appearance, and all have common traits to their appearance. As a result of this ability he can also communicate with animals to a degree. in animal form he has full communication capability, but while in human form he can only communicate moods. Animals tend to like him better than most humans because he can exert a calming sort of mood to them, allowing them to feel as if he an be trusted.

Personality:Somewhat cold and distant, Christopher is the definition of a Free spirit. Having spent over a decade of his life living in the wild, in the form of various animals, he does not have much care for the expectations of human society. He often times thinks and acts lie an animal. He follows his impulses, and is driven very much by his emotion. He has little knowledge of what is "polite" or "acceptable", and less care for such trivial matters. He considers himself more animal than human.

Appearance: In his Human form Christopher often has a very disheveled look about him. He has unruly medium length black hair, and a scruffy chin strap. He almost always has some form of stubble on top, as even when he shaves it does not take long for more hair to grow (possibly a result of the high propensity of animal DNA which is present in his genes). He bears a scar directly under his eye which reaches from the left side of his nose, to just past his eye. He often times wears a loose fitting t-shirt and grey sweat pants. His most used form, however, is that of Timber wolf. In this form he is a large black and grey wolf. The scar on his nose is moved further from his eye, and rests about halfway down his muzzle. he has an odd patch of reddish brown fur on his back which coincides with a tattoo he has between his shoulder blades. Tattoos are one of the few things developed by human society that he has a fondness for. Preferring his animal forms, Christopher sees tattoos as a way of turning his human form into something more unique. The only tattoo that seems to manifest in his transformations however, is the first one on his back, a black Celtic cross surrounded on either side by black and red bat wings.

Bio:
There's not much of a story to tell when it comes to Christopher. Unlike many mutants, Chris' powers began to manifest shortly after his birth. Born to a poor young woman who had turned to the streets to make some cash, Christopher wasn't wanted from the beginning. He was given to an orphanage the day he was born, but did not last there long.

Looking back on things, it would be possible to argue that the time spent in the orphanage was definitely the easiest, if not the best time in his life. Though his powers hadn't fully developed to the point where he could transform, certain attributes took root in his personality and demeanor. He was quite fast and strong for his age, and was one of the most popular children at the orphanage. When they were in the yard, Chris had a weird way of being able to get close to wild animals. They seemed to trust him in a way that they did not trust the average human. The other children loved when he could coax a squirrel, or a small bird over to their group so that the youngsters could play with the animal, touch it, and marvel at the wild creatures.

The trouble started when the DNA of the various animals who were now encoded into his genes, began influencing his personality and actions. He didn't know what it was, and had no way to control it, but at times the behavior of a certain animal would take over and he would find himself suddenly skittish and afraid of the other children. On one such occasion, while exhibiting behavioral signs of a raccoon, Christopher unwittingly attacked another one of the orphans. He bit the other boy's arm, and clawed at his face, with nails which had partially transformed, leaving deeper gouges in the boy's face then they should have. When the head nun at the orphanage came out screaming, Christopher turned tail and ran, climbing up and over the yard's fence with relative ease. He took off into the nearby woods and hid.

It was another few weeks until he began to understand what was happening to him. Over time he began to be able to control it. He could suppress the natural instincts of the animals, and soon found he could actually take on the shape of those same animals. His first transformation was into the form of a squirrel, which he found himself stuck in for over a week. He could think the same as when he was a human, but there was always a driving voice in his head which caused him to act differently than he wanted. This was the natural instinct of the animal, resurfacing with greater force due to his transformed state.

Over time he learned to control these instincts in the transformed state too. The voice was always there in the back of his head, and he could listen to it if he chose, but he also had the ability to reason the way a human does. He found this came in quite handy for such tasks as avoiding larger predators, and finding food. He gathered DNA readings on countless more animals, mostly small rodents and other creatures which called the forests his home. At the age of 6 he got his first large predator form: a timber wolf.

He found it during one of the brief periods he inhabited his human form. It had been injured, caught in a hunter's trap. Able to calm the beast, Christopher got close, and released it from the trap. In doing so he received the DNA coding he needed to transform into a wolf, and quickly did so. He stayed with the inured wolf for quite some time, aiding it as it made its way back to its pack. Christopher was accepted by these wolves, and spent the next 11 years with them.

Eventually he became curious of the human world again, having not experienced it since he was a small child of 4. He split off from the pack and headed for civilization. He now spends much of his time in the human world. He performs on the streets to get money, and sometimes steals in order to sustain himself. This he does not have to do often though, as he is quite capable of hunting for food. He still lives int he woods, as an animal however, his human form used less than his wolf form, and the forms of other animals, as he has no real home or family in the real world, and as such nothing to tie him to his human form.

As Christopher prowled in the wilderness near the Xavier institute, Professor X was able to recognize him as a mutant, and not just an animal. He called out to the young man telepathically, drawing the wolf towards the institute. In the following months since he was discovered, Xavier has helped Christopher to acclimatize himself to human nature. While he still feels more comfortable in the wild, he can pass as "normal" in the human world.
