Laila is part bat. She has pointed ears and fangs that are sharp but have no venom, and elongated feet with an extra toe that allows her to grab onto things with her feet so she can hang upside down. She has black bat wings that have a wingspan of ten feet, allowing her to fly.

She can "sense" things using a form of Echolocation. Her body gives off vibrations allowing her to be able to "see" where everything is in a new environment. She can tell the difference between people due to the unique vibes each person gives out.

She can give off a high pitched screech that can paralyze or stun her victim for a few minutes as a side effect of her vibrations.

(Ok, so I couldn't remember if you said that being able to fly because of her wings was a power, so I added this one in case it wasn't counted as one. If flight is counted, I can take this one off)

When being able to concentrate hard enough, she can solidify the vibrations she gives out. If sending them with enough force, they can potentially explode an object (object, not person). However, she has only just begun learning this new skill and can't use it very well.

Personality:

Laila is mostly nice, but can be very sarcastic. She holds grudges and takes offense easily. She has a sharp tongue and is fast with comebacks. She doesn't trust easily, and is wary of most people. Those she does trust she is extremely loyal to. She often keeps to herself and doesn't say much. She's the kind of girl who would rather stay in her room than go out and socialize. She can be a little rude when she's mad, but usually is good tempered. When she is mad though, she really blows up. She is definitely a pessimist, and always sees the dark side of things.

Appearance:

Laila has purplish black wavy hair that goes to the middle of her back. She usually wears it down, but occasionally puts it into a braid. She has pale skin and a few light freckles across the top her her cheekbones and nose. She is about 5'6''. Her eyes are a washed out blue color, due to the fact that she is blind.

She has black bat wings with a wingspan of ten feet. She also has fangs and pointed ears. Along with that, her feet are elongated, and she has an extra toe that allows her to grab onto things with her feet so she can hang upside down from her feet.

She never wears skirts, shorts, or dresses. She mostly wears jeans, but will occasionally wear caprices. Her usual appearance is a black or dark colored T-shirt, black or dark colored jeans, and her specially made tennis shoes that allow her to grab onto things with her feet.

Bio:

Laila was born blind due to her mutation. When she was born, the doctors noted odd bones in her back, but decided they were not going to hurt anything and did not tell Laila's parents. Laila was the first child, and would have hopefully been one of many. However, when Laila was only a year old, their house caught on fire. Laila's mother and father both died in the fire, and Laila inhaled a lot of smoke. She was mildly burned, and has a few scars on her arms from the experience.

Because of family complications, Laila was shipped off to a foster home after recovering from the fire. When she was three years old, she was again shipped off to another foster home. After two years there, she ran away but was soon taken back to the foster home seeing as she didn't get very far being young and blind. Quicker then she could blink she was being sent off to an orphanage. She hated it there, all ways being teased and bullied because of her blindness. Again, she ran away from there when she was seven, and again was caught, and sent off to a different orphanage. There she only stayed for a few months because of a couple deciding to foster. However, they soon decided she was too difficult and she was sent to a different foster home. Round and round she went for six years, staying in each foster home for only a few months at a time.

Finally, when she was thirteen, she found a foster family that actually liked her. She stayed with them until she turned fifteen. They had only signed up to take her for two years, and sadly Laila and the family parted ways. She was taken to another foster home in New York. Everything was going well and she thought that this would be her last foster home until she came of age.

After two years however, her mutant powers began surfacing. Major headaches, ear aches, back pains and uncontrollable shaking were the signs. Her foster parents of course had no idea what was going on. After only a few weeks of this suffering, her super hearing came in. Her ears became pointed and thin, not unlike an elf, and her two K9 teeth grew sharp and a little longer than the rest of her teeth, forming fangs. It wasn't until about two months however that her wings came in. At this her foster parents went berserk and tried to contact every doctor they knew. Laila ran away from home, thinking of the awful experiments. She lives in Bayville, but stays in the shadows. She has heard of the X-Men and the Brotherhood, but doesn't know whose side she's on.
