Night training

Jake prowled forward, sneaking through the brush. He may get introuble for being a tiger in the middle of the park, but being stuck in the institute whenever he wanted to be a big cat was tiring.
He jumped into a tree, shifting to a leopard, a big cat that *wouldnt* break the branch.
He flicked his tail happily. He was getting better at this.

Suddenly Jake's back paw was pulled into the trunk of the tree "Hey Jake!" Kitty laughed

Jake gave a surprised Mrrow and gripped the tree as one of his paws sank into the trunk.
He laid pack his ears.
"Gaah- Kitty, dont do that!"

Kitty rleased Jakes paw from the tree "I'm sorry that was just too good!" She said rarely taking a breathe from all her laughing

"Very funny." Jake said, rolling his eyes. "So, what are you doing out here so late anyway?"

One she finnaly got ahold of herself she sat down on the branch next to Jake "Eh, nothing much. Like, believe it or not I don't even remember why I came out here. So what are you doing out here like that?" She asked noting his leopard form

Jake moved carefully so he could lay down on the branch.
"Meh, I couldnt sleep and I'm tired of being stuck in the institute."

Kitty raised an eyebrow "You know we have our own personal woods in our back yard right?"

Jake yawned. "Yah, but it's not as fun if you're *always* there."

Kitty gave a one shouldered shrug "All right. So you ready for the weekend build-up?"

Jake shrugged. "I guess." He shifted postions.

Kitty sghed "Hopefully its not as bd as I think it's going to be..."

"It'll be fine." Jake said sounding distracted. He sighed.

"Hey you allright?" Kitt asked concerned. He seened distracted which in Kitty's mind was out of character for Jake.

"Hmm? Yah, i guess, why?" Jake said, raising his head.

Kitty raised an eyebrow "Uh yeah, you seem pretty out of it."

"Ah, yah. I'm just thinking that's all."

She stared at him letting a few seconds go by "Go on...."

Jake sighed and streached.
"I've been feeling rather useless lately, just lazing around bored out of my mind or getting my butt handed to me in the danger room sessions. I...er.. nevermind, it's stupid."

She shook her head, understanding his situation perfectly "No it isn't."

Jake gave a doubtful grunt. "Yah it is......." He whined, sounding a bit more like his usual self.

She placed a hand on his shoulder "Come one you can tell me."

Jake sighed. "I..." Jake started trying to find the words. "I dont know." He whinned resting his head on his paws again.
"I want to feel more useful."

"You will be. I mean you hold up pretty well for someone with on real arm and turns into cats. After a little while you could be really useful with your power and stealth." Kitty placed a hand on jake's back.

"Maybe..." Jake grumbled. He flicked his tail, frustrated. "I dont know."
