In the Mall

Brandon was relaxing. He was openly a mutant. People walked by and gave him dirty looks. He just charged his head and they ran as they saw the energy.

"Well you're rather open about your powers." Jake said, approaching with a frown, head tilted. He wondered what was wrong with this guy.

Brandon looked up. "Coming from someone who thinks mutants and humans should be friends."He said charging his hand.

"Is there someting wrong with that? I'm still human. Just someting happened to make me different. We're still the same." Jake said, not quite understanding.

"You don't understand anything. Your different then them. They hate you. They hate me. They are rather....simpletons. You are too naive to know what these people think about you."

Jake scowled. "Or maybe you're too thick skulled. Not everyone reacts the same, stupid."

Brandon stood up. He put his hand on Jake's chest. It was still glowing. He then let it explode with a force that would just push Jake back a good 20 feet.

Jean had been shopping for some track shoes when she saw someone that looked like jake being thrown back. She immediately rushed over. She saw some starnge person. "What is going on here?!"

Jake hit the ground hard. With a cough he got up shakily. That tiger in him was ready to come out, but a fight here could hurt innosent civilians.
"What was that for?!" Jake shouted at the guy.

Brandon just smiled. He turned around and began to walk away. "Now let's see if you will use your powers to attack me!"He yelled letting everyone know he was a mutant. "Let's see how you feel when they look at you now."

Knowing they were completely ignoring her she yelled at them. "HEY BOTH OF YOU CALM DOWN!!!!"

Jake tilted his head as he heard Jean yell.
He snarled but stayed where he was.
"Nincompoop." Jake muttered. "You dont have to be a muntant to know when not to fight..."

Brandon looked at the woman. "Your the one screaming."He said with a laugh as he walked away.

Jean took a breath and walked over to Jake "You okay?"

"Yah," Jake said rubbing his chest. It was stinging and it hurt really bad, but there was no way he was going to tell her that.

Jean put her hand to his forehead. "Uh huh sure. You're hurt. You need to get back to the institute."

"I forgot you can read minds....." Jake muttered grudgingly.

Jean smirks and looks around. "But seriouly you need to go home, get some rest."

"I'm fine. He couldn't hurt me that bad- I'm part tiger remember."

"Yeah but you are still part human so..." Jean picked back up her shoe bag

Jake waved her off. "The Jake part's still tough."

"Yeah okay, just try not to get hurt too bad rookie." Jean stood up straight and started to walk off

Jake gave a shrug and started to head to the food court.

She looked back at him and then decided she had enough of the mall and went home
